It's been since February since we got FTF honors. Competition is pretty fierce locally getting a FTF. Six Little Spookies have owned the "FTF" title lately, getting new caches within hours of it's publishing.
While I was surfing geocaching.com early this morning, I noticed a new cache on the island. I was jumping for joy to go find this cache. I just knew if I didn't get going that we were going to get beat out again! So I woke everybody up to go geocaching in another attempt to beat out the Spookies!
When we arrived, it seems a little too quiet, like somebody already found the cache. We kept an eye on vehicles that drove by while we were looking, nervous that another team was going to drop in and steal the coveted FTF.
We were looking for a nano cache. Which means it's smaller around than a dime and about as tall as a pencil top. Very tiny! Which can make the task of finding the cache very difficult. After fumbling around the zero point on my GPS, we found it. Now for the news... were we the FTF? After a glance at the log, there were no writings on the new log. We did it! FTF! Whoo hoo! After we logged our proud accomplishment, the cache owner replied back to me...
--->Just wanted to thank you for the $5 I won on a bet this morning. My husband and I had a bet going as to who would find the Little Marler cache first - he bet on the Six Little Spookies and I bet on you LOL I never knew that little park was there until the other night when Troy and I were out for a cache hunt/date night and found your cache at Marler Park (which is one of our favorite fishing spots)After we left there we turned in to see who had that cool ferris wheel type light (Club 10 - and no we didn't go in LOL) and we saw the little park. Troy tells me that's a big make-out place late at night (obviously he spent too much time at the Timbers when he was young)I thought it looked like the perfect place for the nano I've had sitting on my desk for way too long. So I wanted to say thanks for the $5 and for leading us to the Mini Marler park.
Have a good one!

Six Little Spookies came in third on this try. Here's what they wrote!
--->"Team Gravelshot will get first crack at all the caches for the next few weeks, as Spooky 1 is at SOS in Montgomery until the end of August. So make sure you get the FTFs before the weekends! ;) That's your only chance! :)"
It's all fun competition between cachers, it makes the game that much more fun.
Keep cachin'

I love your blog! The UWF trip hunt looks like a lot of fun but we're going to have to wait until it cools off a little before we try that one. Geocaching is the best thing since sliced bread LOL
