On the road!

We took our geocaching expedition on the road today. Off to Mobile, Alabama to visit the wife's family and to geocache, of course!

First off, was a little place on Dauphin Island. This cache was not the typical tupperware box or army ammo can. It was a bird house!

One of the greatest things about geocaching is that it takes you places you would never go otherwise or know about. The next cache took us to an old cemetery in downtown Mobile. So old, in fact, a confederate cemetery from the civil war was located here. Most headstones were in the 1861-1865 time frame. Exploring the cemetery on the way out, I saw a headstone that was dated 1799! Holli's Mom proved to be a great geocacher for her first time!!
On the way to the next couple of "treasure boxes" on the west side of Mobile. Came across one of the nicest parks ever! It had a nice walk in the woods which hid a frisbee golf course and a geocache!
Off to a birthday party now. Had a great time in Mobile and found some really fun geocaches. On the road again next week to visit family in Texas. Yes, I've already put together my map! See you out on the trail!
